Who Is Garry B. Jr.
Garry is a media consultant and a FreeShow trainer. That second part matters more than it sounds. FreeShow is free, open-source presentation software built for worship, and OBS is the free, open-source software most of the streaming world runs on. Between them they cost nothing, which is exactly why so many congregations end up using them without anyone ever showing them how.
Garry is the person who shows them how.
Why This Conversation, and Why Now
Almost every house of worship streams something these days. Very few of them planned to. The stream started as an emergency measure, the volunteer who set it up has since moved away, and what is left is a laptop nobody wants to touch and a Sunday morning that works right up until it does not.
Meanwhile the tools have quietly become excellent. The gap is no longer budget or software. It is knowing how the pieces fit together, which is the sort of thing that takes an afternoon to learn and years to work out on your own.
